MJ Fox was in American TV show 'Family Ties' at the time, which meant most of the filming was done at night.

MJ Fox had to learn to skateboard for the film.

MJ Fox was supposedly insistent on learning the correct fingering for his guitar solo in the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance, although we do not actually hear him playing it.

The 'Back to the Future' series ranked at ONLY #9 on IGN's Top 25 Movie Franchises of All Time (2006).

MJ Fox is only ten days younger than Lea Thompson (Lorainne Baines McFly), and is almost three years older than his on-screen dad, Crispin Glover (George McFly).

The orginal time travel machine was a refrigerator, but this was scrapped because Spielberg did not want children to start climbing into refrigerators and getting trapped inside!
